Died Dec. 1, 2006
Hazel Robinson Turner, 80, 505 Orange St, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Newton Grove, an active member of Black Ministerial Association, the Ladies Guild of St. Mary Catholic Church and a WAGES foster grandparent at Edgewood Community Developmental School.
Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Avenue, with Father Thomas Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery, Newton Grove.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Oliver and Nelia Robinson; her husband, John Henry Turner Sr.; three sisters, Mamie Henry, Catherine Foster and Annie Warren; three brothers, Ernest, Joseph and Thomas Robinson.
She is survived by three sons; John Turner Jr., Dibbie Ray and Dennis Turner; five daughters, JoAnn Royal, Annie Smith, Edna Turner-Moses, Romajean Daniels, and Iva M. Wright; 13 grandchildren, Kim, Neil, Detra, Andre, Sharron, Michael, Dana, Jerry, Simona, Debbie, Jessica, Hansie, and Ketwana; 17 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., family will receive friends at other times at 505 Orange Street.
