ROY LESTER ADAMS

Aug. 10, 1931-April 24, 2006

Retired Tech. Sgt. Roy Lester Adams, 74, of 1502 Scotty Drive, went to be with our Lord on Monday, April 24, 2006.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro. The Reverend Ryan Rasmussen will officiate.

Mr. Adams was born in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, on August 10, 1931, to the late Lester Adams and Elsie Yingling Adams. He retired from the Untied States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant with over 20 years of service. He was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and was a member of the Troubleshooters.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Mary Adams of Emerald Isle and R.L. Adams of Raleigh and Charlene Adams of Wendell; one brother, Kenneth Adams of Willow Street, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Betty Sharrer of Spring Hill, Florida and Carole Waddell of New Oxford, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Allison and Lane Adams.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Evans Adams, and two brothers, Donald Adams and Tom Adams

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church Dining Hall Fund, 1101 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina, 27530.
