Norma Lois Jones Odum, 72, of Fremont, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Robert Langley will officiate. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Mrs. Odum was born in Wayne County on July 25, 1933, to the late Joseph Edward Jones and Leona Barwick Jones. She was a member of Fremont Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Gary Odum and his wife, Joni, of San Clemente, Calif., and Robert C. Odum and his wife, Teresa, of Fremont; two daughters, Cindy Odum Carter and her husband, Joe, of Clinton and Susan D. Odum of Goldsboro; one brother, Joseph E. Jones of Goldsboro; two sisters, Maude Geraldine Jones and Jean Carol Jones of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Meghan Elizabeth Odum, Courtney Allison Odum, Krisha Lyn James and Joseph Carter; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Blake James and Tyler Paxton Emanuel; and a special friend, Antoinette Rodgers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Odum was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Odum.

The family will receive friends at Howell Funeral Home following the service tonight, and other times at the home of Susan D. Odum, 101 Stonegate Court.
