Elmer Parker Denning, 76, died Wednesday evening at Britthaven of Snow Hill.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro. Bill Brown will officiate.
Mr. Denning was born in Wayne County to the late John Denning and Bessie Joyner Denning. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing baseball and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Denning of Goldsboro; two daughters, Debbie Barrett and her husband, Ronald, of Ayden and Brenda Person and her husband, Willie, of Pikeville; one sister, Betty Dobbs, and her husband, Vann, of Alabama; four grandchildren, Sherry Oliver, Brian Oliver, Willie Person Jr. and Rebecca Perry; one great-grandson, A. J. Perry; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, and other times at the home of Brenda Person, 427 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville.
