Esther Mae Worrell Kearney, 89, of 1331 Hwy. 111 North, died Monday at Brian Center.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor Mike Williams and the Rev. Dock Hobbs will officiate. Interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kearney was a member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald "Ronnie" L. Kearney, and his wife, Joan, of Goldsboro and William "Kent" Kearney and his wife, Margaret, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Thelma Colleen Puryear, and her husband, Lindsey, of Durham; two brothers, Harold Worrell and his wife, Irene, of Goldsboro and Lawrence Worrell and his wife, Jenny, of Goldsboro; four sisters, Elizabeth W. Edmundson of Goldsboro, Esther W. Albright of Cary, Pearl W. Holloman and her husband, Kirby, of Kinston and Jana Bell W. Bryan and her husband, George, of Wilmington; a special sister-in-law, Inga Worrell of Goldsboro; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kearney was preceded in death by her husband, Willie W. Kearney; two daughters, Frances Kearney Grant and Esther Kearney Woosley; and her brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends today from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, and other times at the of Ronnie and Joan Kearney, 144 Hicks Road.
