Maria Tacliad Jones, of 102 Dwight Street, died Saturday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Pastor Ralph Painter will officiate.

Mrs. Jones was born in the Philippines on April 29, 1948, to the late Francisco Tacliad Sr. and Carmen Tacliad. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Goldsboro. She was formerly employed with China King in Goldsboro and Cooper-Standard.

She is survived by her husband, William Kevin Jones; two sons, Curtis L. Messick of Goldsboro and Private Michael A. Messick, stationed in Iraq, and his wife, Angela, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Analyn Simmons and her husband, Tremayne, of Mount Olive; one brother, Francisco Tacliad Jr. of California; three sisters, Corason Baluyot, Virginia Ibarra and Elizabeth Domingo all of the Philip-pines; and three grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Lucille L. Jones of Columbus, Ohio and three sister-in-laws.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by four brothers.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of First Assembly of God following the memorial service.
