Peggy Jean Lassiter Pate Davis, 61, of 201 Belfast Avenue, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Reverend Elaine Clemmons will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mrs. Davis was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of Raymond C. Lassiter of Belfast and the late Dorothy Hamm Lassiter. She employed as a registered nurse at Cherry Hospital and was formerly employed with Dr. Patrick Sasser for over 23 years as a clinical nurse. She had served as pianist and organist for Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and also as organist at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved flowers and crafts and had taught a needlepoint class at Wayne Community College.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, David Davis; two sons, William Raymond "Randy" Pate and his wife, Lisa, of Fremont and Robert Edward "Eddie" Pate of Belfast; one sister, Barbara Bissette and her husband, Donnie, of Belfast; two grandchildren, Ryne Pate and Caroline Pate; a special nephew, D.J. Bissette; and two aunts, Ruth Cherry of Belfast and Frances Clemmons and her husband, Harold, of Saratoga.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, and other times at the home of Barbara Bissette, 194 Belfast Avenue.
