Jean P. Waits, 71, of 166 Walker St., died Wednesday at home.
The funeral will be held Friday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Vernon Braswell will officiate. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.
Mrs. Waits was born in Indiana to the late James Herbert Perry and Susie Pearl Adams Perry. She was reared in Henry County, Kentucky, and spent most of her life in the Rosewood area of Goldsboro. She retired from the Federal Government in 1999, after over 20 years of service in the Raleigh area.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan D. Davis of Goldsboro; one sister, Nancy Meisenhelder, and her husband, Leonard, of Louisville, Ky.;; two grandsons, Danny R. Davis Jr. and Kevin Levi Davis; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Gabrielle and Lilly.
Mrs. Waits was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Perry.
The family will receive friends following the service on Friday evening at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
