Hattie Mae Barfield Summerlin, 89, of Parkfield Village, formerly of Kenly, died Sunday at Wilson Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Kriger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Karol S. Utter of Virginia and Kathy S. Anthony of Kenly; one son, Gerald Summerlin of Stoneville; two sisters, Geneva Rose of Wilson and Mararet Cooper of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Summerlin; one sister, Mildred Stott; three brothers, Clifton,Jimmy, Dennis, and Abner Barfield.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 at Coley Funeral Home.
