Gene Lowell McGuire, 66, of 306 Hill St., died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Fu-neral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Aubrey Jones and the Rev. Jerry Mitchell will officiate.
Mr. McGuire was born in Lee County, Ala., to the late Szetty Henry McGuire and Laura Boner McGuire. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was retired from the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley McGuire; one daughter, Lynne Waddell of Rosewood; two brothers, Henry S. McGuire of Georgia and Buddy McGuire of Alabama; one sister, Jerri McGuire Floyd of Alabama; and one granddaughter, Macy Lynne Waddell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by his stepmother, Eleanor G. McGuire.
The family will receive friends at Howell Funeral Home following the service on Sunday afternoon, and other times at the residence.
