WILMA S. BARBOUR
Wilma Stewart Barbour, 71, of Wilson died at home Wednesday.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park. Dr. Jody Wright will officiate. The family will receive visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 US 264 Alt. West. Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at the home.
Wilma was born on December 18, 1933, in Johnston County. She was the daughter of Ernest and Hattie Stewart, who passed away in 2004. She attended Atlantic Christian College and worked at BB&T for over 20 years. Following her years at the bank, she worked at the Country Restaurant, Herring Farm Center, and for the last 10 years, she enjoyed working with her husband, George, at New Hope Convenient Store.
Her grace and strength inspired all those who knew her, and she brought joy and happiness to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
She was devoted to her family which included her husband, George Rubert Barbour of Wilson; a daughter, Beth Barbour Covolo and her husband, John Covolo, of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Duncan, Clark and Cameron Covolo of Rocky Mount; sisters, Linda Strader of Pine Knoll Shores and Bobbie Rowe of Asheville; brothers, Danny Stewart and Jimmy Stewart of Princeton; and special uncles and aunts, Gray and Effie Lamm and their daughter Kathy Dixon of Wilson and Wallace and Bessie Warren of Smithfield, as well as all her nieces and nephews.
