CLARA COLEMAN
Clara Daye Coleman, 72, of 900 S. Franklin St., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Stoney Hill Holy Church. Dr. Howard McNair will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Ms. Coleman was born in Wayne County on July 12, 1932, to the late Clarence Daye and Laller Smith Daye. She was a member of New Stoney Hill Church and served as a Mother of the Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula M. Artis of LaGrange; one sister, Elizabeth Portier of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Jamaine Banks and wife, Latisha, of Raleigh, Kareen Artis and Jamal Artis of Parkstown, and Adrian Artis and wife, Deshonda, of Ashland, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Allen Banks, Khalil Brown, and Karron Artis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Coleman, and a son-in-law, the Rev. Oscar Artis.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 7 until 8 at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.
