ANNA SPEIGHT
Anna Rose Speight, born December 1, 1943, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Debra West and husband Stan, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her mother, Lois Griffin of Fremont; three children, son Ronnie Pollock and wife, Kay, of Goldsboro, Debra West and husband, Stan, of Fremont and son, Ricky Pollock of Pikeville; grandchildren, Dylan and Jessi Pollock of Goldsboro; stepchildren, Douglas Speight and wife, Glenda, of Goldsboro, Kaye Dawson and husband, Tony, of Goldsboro, Earl Speight of Pikeville, Debbie Taylor and husband, Frank, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Lisa Hales of Goldsboro; step-grandchildren, Christina Pridgen of Goldsboro, Amanda Taylor of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Tyler Hales of Goldsboro; three brothers, Harry Griffin and wife Jean of Hendersonville, Tennnesse, Walter Ray Griffin of Fremont and Warren C. "Baby" Griffin and wife, Brenda, of Fremont; several nieces and nephews, including one special nephew, Randy Hill and wife, Teresa, of Fremont. She was a long-time nanny to Anna and Katie Price, daughters of Connie and Dr. Amy Price of Fremont.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Ronald M. Pollock and Alvin Speight; her father, Warren Griffin; her sister, Glenda Taylor; and grandson, Anthony Dane Pollock.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday night at 7, with visitation immediately following the service, at Howell Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. Pastor Powell Dew and Pastor Jerry Andrews will officiate.
