JAMES BAKER III
FREMONT -- James "Bud" Lemuel Baker III, 57, of 821 Turner Swamp Road, formerly a resident at Avante of Wilson, died Wednesday at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
A funeral service will be held this evening at 7 from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. The Rev. Bobby Fletcher and Elder John Hess will officiate. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda Smith Baker; his mother, Betty Beall of Goldsboro; six brothers, Robert Baker and wife, Brenda, Edward Baker and wife, Sandra, and Charles Baker, all of Goldsboro, Hayward Baker and wife, Joan of Dudley, Allen Baker and wife, Joy, of Seven Springs, and Larry Baker and wife, Connie, of Little Washington; one sister, Christine Peterson of Clinton; his mother and father-in-law, Jean and Pete Smith of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law, Linwood and Donna Smith of Fayetteville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his extended family at Avante.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his father, James L. Baker Jr. and his sister, Patty Jean Caudell.
The family will receive friends following the service this evening at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Pete and Jean Smith, 778 Turner Swamp Road in Fremont.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Eureka United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3240, Eureka, N.C., 27830.
