DAVID E. DAVIS
David Elwood Davis, 82, died Wednesday morning at the Brian Center in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Calypso Cemetery. Pastor Doug Radford will officiate.
Mr. Davis was born in Duplin County to the late Dave and Polly Pearl Davis. He was a life long truck driver. His nicknames were Fat Man and Boss Hog.
He is survived by two sons, Gaylord Davis of Grantham and Howard Davis of Dudley; four daughters, Nancey Perry of Elroy, Cheryl Lee of Goldsboro, Faith Ann Pate and husband, Melvin, of Goldsboro, and Sandra Jean Harrell of Virginia; one sister, Reta Basden of Kinston; and 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Haines Davis; one son, David Winfield; and one daughter, Gale Guzman.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, and other times at 116 Talbert Drive in Goldsboro.
