EARNEST EATON

Earnest Eaton, 60, died Wednesday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Corinth, Miss. Tommy Morrison will officiate. Interment will be at Corinth National Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was born in Alcorn County, Miss., to the late James and Lela Swinney Eaton. He was a graduate of Easom High School where he lettered in football. He also attended the University of Illinois. Mr. Eaton was a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ and has been a resident of Goldsboro for the past 14 years after leaving Upper Heyford, England. He was retired from the United States Air Force as Retired Master Sergeant and was a volunteer driver for Disabled Veterans (DAV).

He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis Eaton of Goldsboro; one son, Timothy Eaton of Japan; one daughter, Dionca Okwara of Raleigh; two brothers, Edward Eaton and James Eaton both of Orlando, Florida; four sisters, Jacqueline Davis of Corinth, Mississippi, Barbara Jackson of Rialto, California, Annie Morrison Chappell of Corinth, Mississippi and Mary Weatherall of Rienzi, Mississippi; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 until 11a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi.

Local funeral arrangements are being handled by Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
