JOHNNY GODBOLD
WARSAW -- The funeral for John Roberson "Johnny" Godbold, 65, will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. Burial will be on Tuesday morning at 11 at the Devotional Gardens.
Mr. Godbold died Saturday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Boney Godbold; love of his life, Jean Stephens; children, Scarlett Harris and husband, Robert, and John Roberson Godbold Jr.; brothers, James "Jimmy" Godbold and Robert Joe Godbold; sisters, Ann Godbold Freed, Sue Godbold and Ellen Godbold Bland; grandchildren, John Roberson Godbold III, David Tyler Godbold, Lee Harris, Patrick Stephens, Nelson Cashwell, Jamie Smith, Jacob Smith, Gina Cashwell, Kayla Stephens, Charity Joyner; extended family, Patrick Jason Stephens and wife, Maria, and Anna Beth Cashwell and husband, Glenn.
His father, Charles Lee Godbold, and a brother, Charles Boney "Shark" Godbold, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Unity United Methodist Church, 1749 West Wards Bridge Road, Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
