KATIE RANTIN
DUDLEY -- Katie Elizabeth Rantin, 78, of 220 Rollingwood Drive, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Saint James Disciples of Christ Church in Mount Olive. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mrs. Rantin was born in Wayne County on March 16, 1925, to the late Moses and Katie Miller Pearsall. She was a member of Saint James Disciples of Christ Church where she served as a Mother. She was formerly employed with Wages as a foster grandparent.
Mrs. Rantin is survived by two sons, Anthony Herbin of the home and Joseph Stephen Herbin of Roxboro; one daughter Carolyn J. Stephenson of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Thelma of Jacksonville, Ludie Pearsall of Philadelphia, Pa., and Savannah Frederick of Dudley; two grandchildren, Timothy and Philip Morton; four great- grandchildren, Felicia Morton, Mariah Morton, Tyrek Morton and Teymyre Morton.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jasper Herbin and William Rantin.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory and the family will be there to greet friends from 6 until 7 p.m.
