A man fell asleep while driving and struck another car on Outlaw Road, causing the other car to roll over.
Ralph Anthony Bailey, 32, of 171 Outlaw Road in Dudley, was on his way to work around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when he began to fall asleep. N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Nolan Sanders said that Bailey was traveling east on Outlaw Road when he drove his 2015 Chrysler across the center line and into a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Dana Kornegay Baker, who was traveling west. The collision caused Baker's car to roll over, landing upright on the side of the road. Bailey's car continued to the left and stopped about a foot from a nearby tree. Wayne County EMS examined Bailey and Baker but neither driver was taken from the scene for additional medical treatment. Sanders said Bailey faces reckless driving charges.
