Country Club Road closing for paving

MOUNT OLIVE -- The portion of Country Club Road that runs from U.S. 117 to U.S. 117 Alternate will be closed today and Thursday for a paving project.
The paving is part of the interchange project now underway at the site.
The road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
"We will close this portion of the road to allow the contractor to work in a safer environment because there will be no traffic around them," said Andrew Barksdale, state Department of Transportation Division 4 spokesman. "This will also be safer for the traveling public since there will be many moving vehicles in the area due to the paving operation."
Detours in place will be:
• On U.S. 117 Alternate southbound go to N.C. 55, take N.C. 55 to the U.S. 117 on-ramp, either northbound or southbound.
• On U.S. 117 Alternate northbound go to U.S. 117, turn left to U.S. 117 southbound or turn right to U.S. 117 northbound.
•.On U.S. 117 southbound go to N.C. 55, turn left onto N.C. 55, take N.C. 55 to U.S. 117 Alternate turn left unto U.S. 117 Alternate.
• On U.S. 117 northbound go to U.S. 117 Alternate, turn right onto U.S. 117 Alternate.
