Retired School Personnel Association presents scholarships

The Wayne County Retired School Personnel has presented three scholarships totaling $6,000.
The scholarships are presented to graduating high school seniors who plan careers in education.
The Dale Gainey Scholarship was awarded to Jasmin Brown of Rosewood High School. She plants attend Meredith College.
Kaylyn Smith of Eastern Wayne High School received the Nancy Edmundson Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
The Wayne County Retired School Personnel Scholarship went to Cassandra Lassiter of Charles B. Aycock High School. Lassiter plans to attend the University of Mount Olive.
Along with the scholarships, the association presented its Outstanding Individual Community Service Award to Geraldine Brewington.
