Police say a well-dressed man in a suit, coat and bow tie stole a woman's car Saturday before being stopped and arrested shortly after.
At 6:10 p.m. Saturday, a woman reported to Goldsboro Police that an unidentified black man wearing a twill suit, maroon bow tie, white scarf and black trench coat took her vehicle from in front of her residence in the 500 block of North Jackson Street.
The woman had been speaking to the man, identified after his capture as Dameon Charles Greene, 17, of 321 Miller Ave., while warming up her car. She said she then went inside to check on something, according to the report.
When she returned, the dapper suspect was leaving the residence ---- in her car.
While the report on the alleged theft was still being written, officers attempted to pull Greene over on South Slocumb Street for traveling at 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Greene attempted to flee, but eventually pulled over, according to the report.
He was charged with vehicle theft, receiving/possessing stolen property, speeding, and driving with no registration, and placed in jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
