Goldsboro police and firefighters responded to Olivia Lane and Sycamore Street at about 7:30 a.m. today where a school bus hit an unoccupied dump truck.
A dump truck rear-ended a school bus carrying 37 students at the corner of Olivia Lane and Sycamore Street this morning.
Goldsboro Police Capt. Teresa Cox said no one was injured.
She said the school bus on its way to North Drive Elementary School around 7:30 a.m. when it went to turn left onto Olivia from Sycamore.
Cox said the dump truck was unable to slow down and hit the back of the bus.
"We're just getting all of the passengers on the bus, getting their information," she said. "There were no injuries. There looks like there is minimal damage to both vehicles."
She said officers are still speaking with both drivers, and she said there is no information at this time on the identity of the truck driver.
"I'm pretty sure there is going to be a citation," Cox said. "Probably failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision."
