MOUNT OLIVE -- The Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Fun Day in the Park from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Westbrook Park, 210 Westbrook St.
It is being co-sponsored by The Bridge church, Mount Olive Parks and Recreation and Mount Olive Friends of the Parks.
Events to be offered will include entertainment by The Ordinary Gentlemen band and The Bridge Mount Olive Worship Team.
In addition, face painting, hot-dogs, chips, drinks and popcorn will be provided for free.
Pickle Train rides will also be available for $1 per person. All funds raised by the Pickle Train will be used to complete the construction of the train depot that is being built at Westbrook Park.
While at Westbrook Park, enjoy the walking trail, Kids World Playground and the recently added toddler area in addition to the special activities being offered, said Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce President Julie Beck.
"This is a great opportunity to get our Mount Olive citizens and neighbors together for a fun afternoon," she said. "With the exception of the charge for the Pickle Train, we wanted to provide an event that was free of charge. The Chamber appreciates the support that we get, and this is our way of giving back to the community.
"We are thankful for the partnership with The Bridge church, Mount Olive Parks and Recreation and Mount Olive Friends of the Parks. Together, we can achieve more and impact more lives."
