A Wayne County sheriff's deputy was assaulted during a DWI traffic stop in Seven Springs, according to an incident report filed with the sheriff's office Wednesday.
According to the report, the incident happened Sept. 17 around 2 a.m. on Indian Springs Road when the deputy was conducting a DWI traffic stop.
The man accused of assaulting the deputy, Pedro Marko Diaz, 26, of 222 Sanderson Road, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, the report says.
Diaz was "very uncooperative and did not comply to commands given to him," the report says.
According to the report, Diaz "put hands" on the deputy after being told not to when the deputy tried to undo his seatbelt and get Diaz out of the car.
The report does not specify whether Diaz was charged with any crime.
