Wayne Pregnancy Care Center of Goldsboro was recently presented an award from Care Net, a non-profit organization that supports one of the nation's largest network of pregnancy centers.
Beverly Weeks, executive director of Wayne Pregnancy Care Center since 2013, accepted the Guy Condon Presidential award during Care Net's 2015 national conference held in California.
The award was created to honor a center with a holistic approach to client care, including a focus on marriage, fatherhood and motherhood.
The local center, located on Ash Str eet, also has a focus on "life support," Mrs. Weeks said, meaning that it does not just count on the number of churches that support it, but the churches in its network that will provide ongoing support for mothers and/or couples.
Wayne Pregnancy Care Center is a non-profit, Christian, pro-life ministry that offers pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to women facing an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. It also provides pregnancy resources, maternity clothes, emergency assistance, abstinence education, parenting classes, prenatal classes and abortion, adoption and parenting information.
According to Jennifer Marchant, director of client services, the center had more than 3,000 client visits last year.
All services are free and confidential.
