Man shot in neck on George Street

Goldsboro Police begin the investigation into a shooting Friday afternoon on George Street. Michael Weeks was shot multiple times in the neck area, but the injuries are not life threatening.
A Goldsboro man is recovering today after having to be transported via Life Flight to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville with multiple gunshot wounds, Friday afternoon.
Michael Tomario Weeks, 30, of Goldsboro, was shot multiple times in the neck area while walking in the 1100 block of North George Street, according to a police report.
The call came in at approximately 1:32 p.m.
Neighbors said they heard as many as six shots fired. Weeks was struck several times as was a nearby house.
Maj. Anthony Carmon said the injuries were non-life threatening.
"He was shot in the jaw somewhere on North George Street," Carmon said. Several police officers and investigators responded to the scene and began searching for spent shell casings and speaking with residents.
Weeks told police he did not know who shot him. The investigation is ongoing.
