Two Dudley men are charged in connection with a burglary and arson committed on Oct. 17., according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office press release.
No one was injured in the fire.
Marquim Dante Smith, 20, and Carl Herbert Johnson, 22, are each charged with a single count of breaking and entering and arson. Both men, of 332 Potts Road, were placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under secured bonds of $5,000.
According to the press release, sheriff's deputies were called to 136 Brenn Loop Road in Goldsboro Oct. 17 to a burglary and possible arson.
"It was a single-wide mobile home," Capt. Richard Lewis said. "Luckily, the fire burned itself out, you know how (mobile homes) can go up," he said.
The fire damage was relegated to the bathroom and there was heavy smoke damage throughout the residence, Lewis said.
An investigation revealed Smith and Johnston were involved and warrants were secured for their arrest, the press release said.
Lewis said that none of the stolen property has been recovered.
