Argument ends in a shot fired in city

A single shot was fired at a man during an altercation just before 2 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of South Center Street according to a Goldsboro Police Department report.
Glenn Patrick Hall, 26, of 2870 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill, allegedly fired a shot from a .38 special caliber revolver at Sherrod Dorain Moye, 32, of 639 Outlaw Road, Dudley, while the two men were fighting.
Nobody was injured, and there were not multiple shots fired.
According to the police report, both Hall and Moye were under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the altercation.
The altercation took place in the John Street parking lot behind The Flying Shamrock at 115 N. John St., and spilled out into the 100 block of South Center Street.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, said he did not see on the police report if the men told police what caused the confrontation between them, leaving the cause of the incident unknown.
Following the report of the shot fired on Center Street at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Hall was located by police at the Flying Shamrock.
Hall was charged with a misdemeanor count of assault with a deadly weapon, as well as a misdemeanor count of discharging a firearm within the city limits.
Hall was arrested on the 100 block of North John Street, given a $500 unsecured bond and released by the Goldsboro Police Department.
Hall's first appearance in Wayne County court will be on Dec. 7.
