A Pizza Hut delivery person found herself confronted with a shotgun as she attempted to deliver two pizzas to an address in the Seymour Drive housing community on Sunday.
The robbery took place at 7:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Seymour Drive, a Goldsboro police report said.
The delivery driver, a 41-year-old woman, said she was taking a bag containing two pizzas to 405 Seymour Drive when a black man approached her with a shotgun and demanded she drop the bag. The man picked up the bag and fled on foot.
Maj. Anthony Carmon said no money was taken in the incident, but the robbery will still be investigated.
"We're still working it," he said. "It has a similar (modus operandi) to some other incidents we are looking at," he added.
The driver reported the incident when she returned to the Pizza Hut at 2518 E. Ash St.
No further description of the suspect was listed on the report.
Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or text tips to 919-222-4230. Callers can remain anonymous and tips leading to a felony arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Carmon did not elaborate on the other incidents that might be connected to this case. He did say, however, that they were fairly recent events.
"Within the last couple of months," he said.
