Man shot in leg in West Haven community

A Goldsboro man is recovering today after being shot in the leg early this morning in the West Haven housing community.
The shooting took place in the 600 block of West Oak Street at approximately 1:45 a.m., according to a Goldsboro police report.
Dashawn Montrell Casey, 19, of West Holly Street, told police he was shot by an unidentified black man at the intersection of Rockefeller Court and West Oak Street. Casey made his way to 106 W. Oak St. where he was able to call for help.
"His injuries were non-life threatening," Maj. Anthony Carmon said.
Casey described the shooter as having worn a gray hoodie and white pants and driving a gray car.
Wayne County EMS responded and transported Casey to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
