A former employee of the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County accused of sexually assaulting underage females while working at the club turned himself in at the Wayne County magistrate's office early Thursday afternoon.
Christopher Devon Sims, 23, was arrested and placed under a $250,725 secured bond on charges of two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts of felony sex offense by institution custodian and one count felony first degree sex offense with a child.
Reports of the alleged juvenile sexual assaults first surfaced on Nov. 17, 2014, when the Goldsboro Police Department received a report from the Boys and Girls Club about a juvenile sexual assault.
An investigation into the initial report revealed two victims, a 15-year-old female and a 13-year-old female.
Police discovered that the 15-year-old victim had told the Boys and Girls Club on July 1, 2014, that she was sexually assaulted by Sims, who was working for the Boys and Girls Club at the time through the Workforce Investment Act.
Following the report of the sexual assault to the staff of the Boys and Girls Club, Sims was immediately terminated on July 1, 2014, the same day the report surfaced.
Another report from an 11-year-old female stating that she had also been sexually assaulted by Sims was filed with the GPD on March 18, 2015.
All three juvenile victims told police they had been sexually assaulted by Sims during the summer months of 2014.
Warrants were secured for Sims' arrest on Oct. 12 for the sexual assault of the 11-year-old and 15-year-old juvenile females.
After Sims turned himself in Thursday afternoon, he was placed in the Wayne County Jail. His first court appearance is set for Oct. 19.
