Derrick McCotter, 19, of 701 U.S. 70 Bypass East Room 130, was robbed at gunpoint Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of H.V. Brown Park at 600 H.V. Brown Lane.
McCotter told police he was at his brother's house when his cousin, Louis Thompson, arrived at the house with four other black males in the vehicle. McCotter then got into the vehicle with the five men, and drove to H.V. Brown Park.
After the car arrived at the park, all the men in the vehicle got out of the car and two of the men -- who have not been named -- allegedly pulled out handguns and pointed them at McCotter.
One of the men told McCotter to give the men everything he had in his pockets, which was a cell phone worth $200 and $70 in cash, and a pair of grey shoes worth $90.
One of the men then motioned with his handgun for McCotter to leave the area, and McCotter fled in the direction of Bizzell Court.
There have not been any suspects named in the robbery, but those involved are wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crimestoppers at 919-735-2255.
