Complaint results in drug use charges

A community complaint about drug activity in a Wayne County community led sheriff's deputies to the arrest of a Raleigh teen Friday.
Landon Garrett Pate, 18, of 6901 River Run, Apt. 12, Raleigh, is charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
According to a sheriff's office press release, members of the Wayne County Drug Squad received information about drug activity and observed a drug transaction take place. Deputies conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation and discovered drugs during a search.
Approximately $100 worth of heroin, along with numerous plastic bags, a spoon and needles were recovered.
