After several months of speculation fueled by death row inmate Eric Lane's legal team, a DNA expert testified this afternoon that the DNA found on several pieces of biological evidence collected in 2002 as part of an investigation into the kidnapping, rape and murder of 5-year-old Precious Whitfield matches a DNA sample provided by Lane to the state earlier this year.
