Local, state and federal offices, the post office and banks will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
Wayne County offices including the landfill and convenience centers will be closed. County schools will be closed, too.
Town halls in Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Pikeville, Fremont, Eureka and Walnut Creek will be closed Monday and will reopen on Tuesday.
In the city of Goldsboro, sanitation services typically scheduled for Monday, will be serviced Wednesday. The Goldsboro City Council meeting, typically held on the first and third Mondays of each month, will be held Tuesday.
Mount Olive yard waste pickup will be delayed by one day. Monday's route will be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday's on Wednesday. Household garbage pick-up will not be affected.
The town board meeting normally held on the first Monday of the month will be held Sept. 10 instead.
The Pikeville Town Board's September meeting will be held Tuesday instead of Monday due to the holiday, but garbage and recycling routes, which run Thursdays, will not be affected.
The closing will not affect trash pickup in Walnut Creek or Eureka. In Fremont, garbage pickup will shift to Tuesday.
