Tip helps city police capture suspect in shooting

A tip from Crimestoppers led to the successful capture Monday of a Goldsboro man wanted for attempted first-degree murder and other charges.
According to a press release from the Goldsboro Police Department, Edquan Moronta Battle, 25, 508 Dail St., was captured near his home without incident.
Investigators, along with K-9 units, executed the arrest of Battle, wanted for attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and discharging a firearm into occupied property.
The charges stem from a shooting that took place just days before New Years 2011. Battle will be held without bond in the Wayne County Detention Center until he can be arraigned.
