A teenager is recovering at Vidant Medical Center after being shot Sunday afternoon.
But because of his age -- the boy is only 15 -- the Goldsboro Police Department is not releasing his name.
They would, however, provide details about the incident.
The boy was riding in a car on Olivia Lane at just after 4 p.m. when someone in a vehicle parked at its intersection with Carver Drive opened fire.
At first, the driver of the car the victim was in attempted to take him to the hospital, but later stopped and waited for Wayne County EMS to arrive.
The boy was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital before being transported to Greenville.
No suspects have yet been identified by local law enforcement.
Sunday's shooting marked the second incident of its kind to unfold in Goldsboro in less than a week.
Khryie Roberts, a 21-year-old city resident, was killed Thursday after being shot several times outside the Madison Market Grill and Grocery, a business not far from where Sunday's incident occurred.
Both investigations are currently ongoing.
Those with information are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (919) 735-2255.
