Goldsboro/Eastern Wayne alumni set homecoming

Central/Eastern Wayne Alumni and Friends Inc. will have its 40-year homecoming celebration Friday through Sunday, May 25-27, for the classes of 1942, 1952 and 1962 of Central and classes of 1972, 1982, 1992, 2002 and 2012 of Eastern Wayne.
A banquet will be held May 25 at 7 p.m. at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base NCO Club. The speaker will be Dr. Leander Lanier of Christiansburg, Va., a member of Eastern Wayne Class of 1972. Tickets are $30 and have to be purchased by May 13. A hospitality hour will follow.
A dutch breakfast will be held May 26 at 9 a.m. at Murray's restaurant. There will be a parade at noon in Central Heights. Lineup will start at 11 a.m. at Eastern Wayne Middle School. The annual family picnic will be at Eastern Wayne Middle School at 1 p.m. with dinner from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. A homecoming ball will be at 9 p.m. at Murray's. Tickets are $15.
On Sunday, May 27, there will be a worship service at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
An award and gospel program will be held at 5 p.m. at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The speaker will be Ella Smith Rogers of Fayetteville, a member of Central High School class of 1962.
