The Tuscarora Council of the Boy Scouts of America has announced that it will present its annual Distinguished Service Award to George Jeffreys.
The presentation will be made at a banquet June 5 at the Walnut Creek Country Club.
The recipient of the award is recognized for noteworthy and extraordinary leadership to the Scouts and the community and is chosen by a committee of past recipients.
Jeffreys, a co-owner of R.A. Jeffreys Distributing Co., has served the community in a wide variety of capacities and is known as an entrepreneur, executive and business innovator as well as a strong supporter of programs to benefit youth.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the council's programs.
