A Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy was treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital Thursday night after he was assaulted while attempting to make an arrest of a Seven Springs man.
Deputy Dan Truhan was treated and released from the hospital last night.
Truhan was attempting to arrest Stacey Hamilton, 33, of 187 Whitehall Lane, around 9 p.m. in the area of 200 block of Waldrop Drive.
Truhan found Hamilton after being called on a report of a suspicious person.
After Truhan approached the suspect, Hamilton resisted, assaulted the deputy then fled on foot.
As a result of his injury, Truhan was not able to pursue Hamilton.
Other deputies responded to the scene, including a K-9 team and members of the ACE team.
Hamilton was found and arrested a short time later.
He was charged with resisting a public officer, assault on a government official, damage to personal property, and six counts of order for arrest.
Hamilton was taken to the Wayne County Jail and placed under a $117,500 bond.
