The cause of a Saturday evening fire at a vacant warehouse in the downtown district is unknown pending an investigation, but was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported.
Sgt. Josh Stine of Goldsboro police said the fire call came in around 6:45 p.m. and Goldsboro Fire Department responded to the scene, 106 and 108 W. Vine Street. By 8:30, the fire was out, he said.
"It's unknown what caused the fire right now," he said. "It's going to be a total loss but as to what extent, I couldn't tell you.
"They're still doing their investigation right now and they haven't determined the cause of the fire."
