Andrew Acevedo, 7, flies his "Green Lantern" kite with his mother, Emily, during the Gov. Charles B. Aycock Birthplace State Historic Site's "Let's Go Fly a Kite" event. The Charles B. Aycock Birthplace is an excellent place to fly kites because there are no electric lines to worry about and there is a large field on the site that gives plenty of room to run to get kites in the air.
