Offices to be closed for holidays

Federal offices, the post office and banks will be closed Dec. 26 for Christmas and Jan. 2 for New Year's Day, while state offices will be closed Dec. 26 and 27 and Jan. 2.
Wayne County Public Schools will dismiss early on Dec. 20 and are closed until Jan. 3.
The city of Goldsboro will observe the Christmas holiday on Dec. 23 and 26.
All sanitation services scheduled for Dec. 23 will be serviced on Dec. 21 and all sanitation services for Dec. 26 will be serviced on Dec. 28.
The following Wayne County departments will be closed from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2: Animal Control, Board of Elections, Day Reporting Center, Development Alliance, Environmental Health Department, Facilities Services, Finance Department, Register of Deeds, Social Services, GIS/Planning, Health Department, Human Resources, Information Technology, Inspection Department, Office of Emergency Services, Veterans Services and Soil and Water Conservation.
The Tax Department will be closed Dec. 26 through 29, but will open on Dec. 30 and will be closed Jan. 2. The Register of Deeds office will also be open on Dec. 30.
Cooperative Extension will close Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2.
The Wayne County Public Library will close Dec. 24, 26, 27 and Jan. 2. The library will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day since they fall on Sundays and the library is usually closed on Sundays.
The landfill and convenience sites will be closed Dec. 23 and 24. The landfill will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day since they fall on Sundays and the landfill is usually closed on Sundays.
The landfill will resume normal operating hours Dec. 26, but will be closed Jan. 2.
Mount Olive Town Hall will be closed Dec. 23, 26, 27 and Jan. 2. The town board meeting has been rescheduled to Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
The closing will not affect household garbage pickup.
For the week of Dec. 19-23, the yard waste schedule will be: Section 1, Monday; Section 2, Tuesday; Section 3, Wednesday; and Section 4, Thursday.
Section 1 and part of Section 2 will be serviced on Dec. 28; the rest of Section 2 and part of Section 3 on Dec. 29; and the rest of Section 3 and Section 4 on Dec. 30.
For the week of Jan. 2 through 6, the yard waste schedule will be: Section 1 on Jan. 3; Section 2 on Jan. 4; Section 3 on Jan. 5; and Section 4 on Jan. 6.
The recycling center will be closed Dec. 23 and 24, but will re-open on Dec. 26 and be open on Dec. 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Dec. 28 will be on its normal schedule, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Town halls ins Fremont, Pikeville and Walnut Creek will be closed Dec. 23 and 26 and Jan 2. Trash pickup in Fremont will be on Dec. 27 instead of Dec. 26. The Pikeville Town Board meeting will be held Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.
Town halls in Eureka and Seven Springs will be closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
