A registered sex offender wanted in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old Pennsylvania girl was arrested by members of the Goldsboro Police Department Wednesday.

Tushon Brown, 35, is being held in the Wayne County Jail on charges including criminal homicide, statutory rape, failure to comply with registration of a sexual offense, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

According to a Goldsboro Police Department news release, the department was contacted by the Pittsburgh Police Department Wednesday and advised that Brown was possibly in town, at which point, investigators began to actively search for the man.

At 3:55 that afternoon, Brown was located at 526 Ash Street at a beauty salon where his mother worked and arrested on a probation violation.

The following day detectives from the Pittsburgh Police Department arrived to interview the man. He is awaiting extradition to Pittsburgh.

Brown is charged with the murder of Lauren Deis, who had been missing for several days when her body was found wrapped in trash bags at a Pittsburgh high school.

Brown pleaded guilty to rape in 2002 and was on Pennsylvania's sex-offender registry. He was recently released from prison and had been living in Sheraden, Pa.
