New and returning students at Wayne Community College can sign up for fall courses on the main campus on the following dates -- July 14, 15, 20 and Aug. 18, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; July 19, 1-7 p.m.; and Aug. 17, 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Registration for classes taught on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will be Aug. 2-18, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., for active duty military personnel, and Aug. 17 and 18 for visiting students, at the Watkins Das Base Education Center. To obtain a visitor's pass, civilians must submit a background security check form to the college Admissions Office by Aug. 13.
New students must complete the enrollment process, take placement tests and be accepted in order to register for classes.
Classes offered on campus and the base, as well as distance education courses, start Aug. 19.
Payment of tuition and fees is due Aug. 5 for students who register in July, and Aug. 18 for those registering in August.
Students must submit all Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) paperwork by July 14 to insure that the process is completed when payment is due.
"The financial aid office will continue to review and process applications received after the July 14 deadline but we cannot guarantee that aid will be awarded in time to cover your tuition, fees and supplies. The student is responsible for all charges in the absence of a financial aid award," said Brenda Mercer, financial aid director.
The application can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and is available in the college's Financial Aid Office.
