A woman was seriously injured and two others were also taken to the hospital after an early morning crash at Hare and Tommy's roads, fire and Highway Patrol personnel at the scene said.
A person familiar with the accident said the injured woman was at least partially conscious at Wayne Memorial Hospital following the 7:30 a.m. accident.
The names of the vehicle occupants were not yet available early this morning, Pinewood Assistant Chief David Dietrich said.
Upon arrival to the accident scene it was apparent the SUV with severe front-end damage in the middle of the intersection. An as-of-yet unidentified woman was driving the vehicle, authorities said.
An Oldsmobile sedan which carried the injured woman was found at rest next to a rocky ditch in a front yard on Hare Road. An unidentified male was driving the car, and the injured woman was in the passenger seat, authorities said.
Trooper Jimmy Graham said that more information about the wreck would be available later today.
