The Wayne County Public Library is going to sell books in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium at the main branch on Ash Street Friday through Sunday
The sale is being held by the Friends of the Library. The Friends is a non-profit group of volunteers who use the proceeds from the sale to enhance ongoing programs and initiatives like Wayne County Reads, the Community Garden, the Dial-A-Teacher Program and visits by noted authors.
The Friends say thousands of books are going to be available for sale at reasonable prices. And they will have tote bags for sale.
The sale on Friday will be a special preview for members. Friends memberships will be sold at the door that evening for $10 to individuals and $15 to families. And memberships are always available for purchase any time at the library. The Friday preview sale will be held from 7 until 9 p.m.
The sale hours Saturday will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. And sale hours on Sunday will be from 1 until 4 p.m.
The Friends say it's not too late to donate books for the sale. Call the library at 735-1824 to find out which books can be donated. For example, the Friends do not accept encyclopedias, Reader's Digest condensed books, National Geographic magazines, text books or damaged books.
