The Small Business Center of Wayne Community College wants to recognize the best of this county's small businesses.
The center is seeking nominations for awards for the "Small Business of the Year," "New Business," and for the first time, "Innovation."
Nominees must have operated in Wayne County for at least a year and have no more than 100 employees. "New business" nominees must have been in operation no more than five years and have a record of growth in number of employees, sales and/or units. "Innovation" candidates must have shown creativity in products, services, or promotional ideas.
Anyone may nominate a business for an award. Forms are available at banks in Wayne County, the Small Business Center and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce office, as well as online at www.waynecc.edu and www.waynecountychamber.com. Nominations must be submitted to the center by May 4.
The awards will be presented June 18 at the chamber's "Business After Hours" at 4th Services Squadron's Three Eagles Golf Course on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
