Owen Jackson, left, and Shawn Harris prepare batter for frying at the Wayne County Shrine Club Fish Fry at Herman Park this morning. The annual event started at 11 a.m. today, with lunch served until 2 p.m. Dinner plates are available from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals can be obtained at two locations -- both take-out meals and eat-in meals are available at Herman Park, and take-out meals only in Mount Olive next to Roberts Machine Shop on N.C. 55. Plates are $7 each. All proceeds go to Shrine Club activities, including support of the Shriners Children's Hospitals.
